Hopekid and DK Kwenye Beat’s careers seem to have tanked ever since an unknown young lady came out to accuse them of running a train on her and infecting her with herpes.
It was a sensational story that rocked Kenya’s fledgling gospel scene and left the secular side of the entertainment coin knowingly shaking their heads.
Hopekid, however, realized that all the gospel peeps who reached out to him were simply doing so for PR purposes. Since then, he has had to tap into Khaligraph Jones for a collabo because no one in the gospel lane wants to work with him.
Stamina Daddy has since then fared no better. And in a radio interview, Hopekid spoke about being ostracized saying,
sikupata ugumu kufanya collabo na Khaligraph ilimpigia akaniambia kuja studio day fulai nikaweka song on repeat after few minutes he was done,
It is very difficult to do a collabo with a gospel artist than secular sai nikichukua simu niambie mtu wa secular ati nko na ngoma na nataka udrop verse ataniambia kuja a producer wako studio yangu tufanye itoke lakini sai nikiambia gospel artist msee aaleta story mingi.
